Moving from FirstPromoter to Referralmeter

Bring your affiliates and their referral codes across, keep every ?fpr= link they already posted working, and prove the new setup tracks before you switch FirstPromoter off.

  1. 1

Install Referralmeter next to the old script

Sign up, then paste the install prompt into Claude Code, Cursor or Lovable. Leave the FirstPromoter tracking script (fpr.js) in place for now: both can run at once, and nothing is switched off until the new setup is proven.

    > Install Referralmeter with my key and verify it end to end.
  2. 2

    Import your affiliates from FirstPromoter

Importing is part of Pro ($49/month). In the dashboard, open Affiliates and choose the FirstPromoter import, then paste an API key from your FirstPromoter settings. We bring across each affiliate's name, email, status and referral code. The key is used for the import only.

Your affiliates don't need to sign up again. They get a sign-in link to their new portal when you're ready to tell them.

  3. 3

    Old links keep working

The Referralmeter script reads ?fpr= as well as its own parameters, so a link like yourapp.com/?fpr=sarah still credits Sarah, because her code was imported unchanged. Nobody has to replace links in old videos, posts or newsletters.

  4. 4

    Point checkout at Referralmeter

FirstPromoter passes the referral into Stripe as fp_tid. Referralmeter reads referralmeter_ref from checkout metadata. Your agent makes this change during install; if you set up checkout by hand, it is one line in the code that creates the checkout session. For Polar, Lemon Squeezy, Paddle, Creem and Dodo the docs show the field for each provider.

  5. 5

Prove it, then switch the old one off

Run the verification from the dashboard. It sends a test click, signup, test-mode payment, commission and refund through your real setup and issues a certificate. When it passes, remove the FirstPromoter tracking script (fpr.js), stop the FirstPromoter webhook, and cancel at the end of your billing period.

Commission and payout history stays in FirstPromoter. Export it to CSV for your records before you cancel. Referralmeter calculates commissions from the first payment after you connect billing.

Leave FirstPromoter without losing a single link.

Free until your affiliates bring in $1,000 a month. Then $49, flat, however much they sell.
